And I need to know what it is. Found it in a local breakers yard. Less than 10’000 miles on it so I assume some kind of promotional vehicle. Duno why it’s in the yard since nothing’s bent, just missing bumper and lights.

It’s a Micra.

It is a Micra. Usually they’re driven by people who park by feel and keep boiled sweets in the glovebox, not people who spray paint/ wrap psychedelic colours over it.

Jump it.

VERY interesting. Looks like a Peter Max-style art car (at least the art is in a Peter Max style.) Just bolt on a front end and you’re good to go. Wonder if it is a theft recovery and the front bumper was destroyed.

I’m actually in possession of a Micra that is no longer road legal but runs. The urge to jump it is over 9000.

DO IT. Video or it didn’t happen.

Possibly. Although I’ve just noticed there’s overspray where the bumper used to be, so maybe the paint was done after it was removed?

I can’t because since it’s no longer road legal and there’s nowhere close to jump it. Driving it somewhere in the state it’s in = big trouble.

I’m sure that the British Oppos would be willing to help if they have access to space to do it or a trailer.

Can you combine this micra with yours to make a functioning one?

Different generations so unfortunately no. To save ours would require a complete reshell, it was meant to be sent for scrap weeks ago but we’re lazy.

Me and 4muddyfeet were actually discussing taking it banger racing, but it was shockingly expensive to do so.

Sad times. That funky beast deserves to live on.

How much is shockingly expensive?

Unfortunately it looks like it’ll be crushed once stripped. We have categories for wrecked cars here from A-D. D and C can be repaired, B and A usually legally have to be crushed. This is cat B. Sad times, my girlfriend told me I should buy it haha.

Micras congratulate you on your birthday.

A few hundred to prep it and enter it, bearing in mind it’d only survive a couple heats. Plus only one driver per car which is a bit of a raw deal since both of us would want to drive.

That’s not much. Totally worth it.

It is for me haha. I’m a student so I have to be pretty careful with cash.

Maybe they were trying to hide from an evil frog legs fast food magnate.

It’s a girls car also.

You see as many dudes as women driving them around here. Just an appliance car.

Maybe? But more likely they popped out the headlamps for the respray.

You’d think someone who went to the effort to remove headlamps for paint wouldnt spray paint all over the engine bay though. I’m tempted to go have a look at it and harvest some parts for my car from the yard, I’m intrigued by it haha.

Someone who is half-educated on painting. It fits.

Bumper looks to be in the back, so shouldn’t be a bad deal of work to get running, assuming it hasn’t been art’ed too hard on the underbelly for mounting someplace exotic (coughWallcough)
